Special programs

There are a number of programs throughout the state that showcase a variety of talents across dance, music and choir.

CREATE South

CREATE South is a high potential and gifted education program in the arts through which students in Years 4 to 6 have the opportunity to work with teachers and industry professionals to enhance their skills by creating an original musical.  Students participate in 4 full days of rehearsal and culminate with an evening performance.

Our school nominates a range of students across the arts domains including dance, drama, visual arts, choir and technology.

If accepted, students perform in two performances, a matinee and an evening performance.

Schools Spectacular

Since 1984, the Schools Spectacular has grown to become more than just a showcase highlighting the talents of the students of NSW Public Schools. It is an iconic cultural event incorporating students from diverse backgrounds and communities from the length and breadth of the state. The Schools Spectacular is a world-class arena production and one of the largest annual events of its calibre anywhere in Australia and arguably the world. From its ability to produce national and international stars to its role in promoting inclusiveness and reconciliation, the Schools Spectacular has no peer. In addition, SpecFest offers the perfect preshow atmosphere to enrich the spectacular experience and is the ultimate outdoor entertainment hub with great food, activations, and chill-out zones for the whole family to enjoy.

Our school auditions for Schools Spectacular every second year. In 2026, we will submit applications for many of the available categories.
