Student leadership

Opportunities available at our school include:

Leadership Team

The Jannali East School Leadership team consists of 3 boys and 3 girls from Year 6 who have consistently reflected the school expectations throughout their years at school. Students in Year 5 and staff nominate 6 boys and 6 girls to prepare a speech to present to the school community. Students from Year 2 – 5 and all staff members vote for those students who they believe should join the leadership team the following year.

School Leadership Elections

Sports Captains

Students in year 6 who demonstrate school expectations may be considered for a sports captain role. Students present a very short speech as to why they should be considered for this role. Students of each sports house will vote for one boy and one girl sports captain. There are eight sports captain – two for each house. The sports houses are:

Mirrabooka (Red), Girralong (Blue), Dulkara (Green) and Amaroo (Yellow)

Peer Support

All students in Year 5 and 6 participate in peer support training. This prepares them with skills to lead a small group of students from K – 4 in a peer support program.

Student Representative Council (SRC)
